What happens in a session?

We begin with a calm conversation to understand what's going on for you. From there, we use a combination of structured discussion and hypnosis to work directly with how your mind and body respond.

Do I need to have tried therapy before?

No. Many clients come to Alan having tried other approaches, and many come with no prior experience at all. Sessions are tailored entirely to you.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies from person to person. Many people notice significant change after one session. Some issues — particularly habits and addictions — are structured as a 3-session programme. This will be discussed with you beforehand.

Are sessions available online?

Yes. Alan works face-to-face from his practice in Ayr and online via Zoom. Both options are equally effective.

Can children be seen?

Yes. Alan works with children aged 10 and over. Sessions are 60 minutes and tailored appropriately.
